Welcome to The Leukemia Cup Regatta!

Raising sails and raising funds!

Since 1993, participants in Leukemia Cup Regatta events throughout the country have raised over $38 million in funding for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Thanks to people like Gary Jobson who not only is a lymphoma survivor, but the winner of the 1976 America’s Cup , an ESPN commentator and the chairperson of The Leukemia Cup campaign since its inception, the sailing community provides even more support year after year.

It’s support like this that has enabled LLS over the years to fund research and discover new drug therapies, bringing us closer to cures. Since 1949, the survival rate for many blood cancer patients has doubled, tripled, and in some cases quadrupled. Today some LLS funded drugs are used to treat patients with rare forms of stomach and skin cancers and are being tested in clinical trials for a range of cancers including lung, brain, breast, pancreatic and prostate. Drugs like Gleevec, Sprycel, Arinza, Tasigna and Zolinza are now being tested for patients with other non-cancerous diseases like Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Multiple Sclerosis.

With your support, we can beat cancer!

We thank you for your support of family and friends participating in The Leukemia Cup Regatta.  Think about making this your year to raise a sail and join our team!” To learn more, contact us at 312-568-7717 or visit our Web site at www.leukemiacup.org/il
